Eurozone Inflation Stable at 2.7 Pct in March
 

Annual inflation in the eurozone was stable at 2.7 percent in March, the European Union's (EU) statistical office Eurostat said on Tuesday.

Monthly inflation was 1.3 percent in March, the Eurostat said.

As for the 27-nation EU, the annual inflation rate was 2.9 percent in March and the monthly inflation rate was 1.1 percent.

The lowest annual rates in March were observed in Sweden (1.1 percent), Greece (1.4 percent) and Bulgaria (1.7 percent), while the highest rates were registered in Hungary (5.5 percent), Estonia (4.7 percent) and Czech Republic (4.2 percent).

As for the eurozone, main components with the highest annual rates in March 2011 were transport (4.6 percent), alcohol and tobacco (4.4 percent) and housing (4.0 percent), while the lowest annual rates were observed for communications (-2.8 percent), recreation and culture (0.7 percent) and education (0.9 percent).
