French consumer sentiment to the general economy in April inched up with the monthly confidence indicator stood at 88, one point up from March, the national statistics bureau Insee said Tuesday.
Personal financial situation outlook moved up to minus 17 from minus 19, but remained below its long-term averages, Insee said.
Households' view on opportunities of making major purchases fell slightly over the period but they were more worried about future unemployment with outlook for joblessness rising by 2 points to 60 points in April.
As to inflation, household opinions showed almost stable pressure with more of them considered opportune to save as the index of consumers saving capacity in the next 12 months gained four points.
French officials had set inflation rate at 1.7 percent while growth rate expected to grow by 0.7 percent for the whole year of 2012.
