Unemployment in Spain fell by 6,632 to 4,744,235 in April, according to figures published on Friday by Spain's Ministry of Employment and Social Security.
These figures differ from those of the Inquest into the Active Population which reported 5.6 million Spaniards were out of work at the end of April.
This is the lowest fall in unemployment in April, traditionally a good month for job creation in Spain. In April last year, unemployment figures dropped by 64,309.
After the Easter holidays, Spain usually experiences a boost in the service and tourism sectors as hotels, bars and restaurants take on extra short-term staff to work over the summer holidays.
April saw the creation of 8,304 jobs in those sectors, while the arrival of warmer weather also saw around 1,000 new jobs in agriculture.
However, the trend was still negative in the industrial sector, where 1,828 jobs disappeared, while a further 2,473 Spaniards joined the unemployment register without having had previous employment.
