Earlier, the China Foreign Exchange Trading System (CFETS) announced the winners of its Awards Program 2011. ICBC has been named "Best Market Maker" and received six prestigious awards, namely, "Most Disciplined Market Maker (Derivatives)", "Most Popular Market Maker (Derivatives) ", "Best Technical Market Maker", "Best Market Maker on Background Support", "Best Market Maker in Emerging Market Currencies" and "Excellent Dealing Member (Derivatives) ".

The CFETS's awards are presented to excellent members who have performed well in the past year. Winners are determined by system indexes, votes from the market and regulatory authority's scoring, authoritative and unbiased. The "Best Market Maker" to ICBC is the most heavyweight award. Every year, CFETS only selected one bank to receive the honor, no "Best Market Maker" winner since the award set up after the announcement of Measures for Selection on Excellent Market Maker in Interbank Foreign Exchange Market. It is a historic breakthrough of ICBC to be the first winner of this award.

For three consecutive years ICBC sits on the top of the ranking in terms of trading volume. Winning the "Best Market Maker" for the first time demonstrated the strength and influence of ICBC in the interbank foreign exchange market as well as recognition from the peers and regulatory authority.
