"IIChina.com", the Chinese website of US Institutional Investor, announced the award winners of "Best Commercial Bank in China" on February 29, 2012 in Beijing. ICBC edged ahead all other nominated banks and won the highest honor- "Diamond Award" for the "Best Commercial Bank in China".

This year's survey lasted for four months. The winners were judged by an invited panel of 730 professionals coming from fund houses, securities firms and other financial institutions. The result was tabulated based on the highest score to one bank and scorings on the fifteen nominated banks measured by five areas (service attitude, service speed, corporate loan services, personal wealth management services and online banking services). Three banks receiving the highest votes were named "Best Commercial Bank in China". ICBC has received 260 votes, 60 votes more than the No.2 bank in the ranking. The organizer commented that ICBC and two other winning banks are the most competitive, most influential commercial banks in China.
