At the recent 2011 award program sponsored by the China Foreign Exchange Trade System & National Interbank Funding Center ("Center"), ICBC edged ahead a thousand participating member organizations and won the "2011 Interbank RMB Market Outstanding Contribution Award", in recognition of its excellent background support ability and contribution to the set-up of interbank market.

In 2011, ICBC took the initiative to work with the Center on the set-up of derivatives market infrastructure. ICBC as the main sponsor fully involved in the design of Center's background confirmation system, system testing and process optimization. ICBC was the first batch of market member to adopt this electronic confirmation platform. Meanwhile, ICBC actively participated in the multi-lateral netting of RMB interest rate swap to introduce netting mechanism into RMB interest rate derivative market. ICBC also assisted in the design of an operating mechanism to raise clearing efficiency for RMB interest rate swap.
