The Asian Banker (Singapore) hosted its "Excellence in Retail Financial Service Program 2012", on April 12 in Beijing, to present the awards to Chinese winners. ICBC was the bank that bagged the most prestigious and most number of awards: "Best Internet Banking in Asia Pacific", "Best Large-Scale Retail Bank in China", "Best Internet Banking in China" and "Best Private Bank in China".
"The Asian Banker - Excellence in Retail Finance Service Awards" was instituted in 2002 on the premise that an outstanding institution in consumer banking in Asia Pacific, demonstrates a sustainable franchise based on strong business processes. The program is currently the most prestigious awards program for consumer banking in Asia Pacific.
In recent years, ICBC, the largest retail bank in China, continues moving forward the transformation of personal banking business and making huge strides in product innovation, channel upgrade and marketing. The Asian Banker's judging panel, in recognition of ICBC's excellence in retail banking business, unanimously agreed to present to ICBC the "Best Large-Scale Retail Bank in China" for the fifth time and the "Best Private Bank in China", introduced to the Awards program for the first time this year. Meanwhile, ICBC leverages its strong innovation and market influence to take the "Best Internet Banking in China" for its Personal Internet Banking, marking ICBC's second year winning the award. At the same time, ICBC edged ahead all banks in Asia Pacific to bag the "Best Internet Banking in Asia Pacific", which was presented to a bank from Mainland China for the first time.
