SMS Banking
 

I. Introduction
SMS banking is an integrated, safe and convenient service provided by ICBC as a pioneer among domestic peers by combining mobile communication technology and modern financial services. SMS banking provides comprehensive range of financial services like information inquiry, account activities, service customization, business consultation, bill payment and mobile phone top up. SMS banking, together with Internet banking, telephone banking and mobile banking, are ICBC e-banking services.

II. Target Customers
ICBC personal customers and corporate customers.

III. Service Channels and Time
ICBC SMS banking service number is 95588. Users of China Mobile, China Unicom (excluding Personal Access System) and China Telecom can enjoy 7*24-hour services by sending a message to 95588.

IV. Operation Instructions
i. Sign up for SMS banking
1. Through SMS
(1) Customers without ICBC e-Password Device or SMS banking password:
Take inquiry business for an example. Please send "CXYE#card number" to 95588, call 4001195588 for ID verification and set a SMS banking password. Then inquiry can be conducted.
(2) Customers with ICBC e-Password Device
All customers with ICBC e-Password Device are automatically eligible to access SMS banking.
2. Through telephone banking
(1) Self-service
Please call 95588, and select "7-Other financial services"-"8-SMS banking management"-"1-Sign up for SMS banking". Then you can complete self-service registration by following the instructions.
(2) Help desk
Please select "Help desk" after calling 95588. Then a help desk representative will help you sign up for SMS banking.
3. Through Internet banking
Customers signing up for Internet banking over the counter can sign up for SMS banking through Internet banking. Please click "SMS Banking"-"Sign up" in "E-banking registration- Sign up for e-banking" after logging on to Internet banking, and then sign up for SMS banking by following the instructions.
4. Through mobile banking
Please click "SMS Banking"-"Sign up" in "E-banking registration/management" after logging on to mobile banking, and then sign up for SMS banking by following the instructions.

ii. Add a registered card for SMS banking
1. Through SMS
(1) Customers without ICBC e-Password Device
Take inquiry business for an example. Please send "CXYE#SMS banking password" to 95588, then call 4001195588 for ID verification.
(2) If the card has been equipped with ICBC e-Password Device, you don't have to add this card, which can be used directly.
2. Through telephone banking
(1) Self-service
Please call 95588, and select "7-Other financial services"-"8-SMS banking management"-"2-Add a new account". Then you can add the card by following the instructions.
(2) Help desk
Please select "Help desk" after calling 95588. Then a help desk representative will help you add a registered card for SMS banking.
3. Through Internet banking
If you have signed up for Internet banking over the counter, please click "E-banking registration-My e-banking" after logging on to Internet banking, select "Add registered card/account" in "My SMS banking" and then follow the instructions.
4. Through mobile banking
If you have signed up for mobile banking over the counter, please click "E-banking registration/management" after logging on to mobile banking, select "SMS banking”-“Management", click "Add registered card/account" at the bottom of the page and then follow the instructions.

iii. Cancel SMS banking
1. Through SMS
Send "QXFW#card number or account number#dynamic password of e-Password Device or SMS banking password" to 95588 to cancel SMS banking service of single card or account;
Send "QXQB#card number or account number#dynamic password of e-Password Device or SMS banking password" to 95588 to cancel SMS banking service of all cards or accounts;
2. Through telephone banking
(1) Self-service
Please call 95588, and select "7-Other financial services"-"8-SMS banking management"-"7-Cancel SMS banking service". Then you can cancel the service by following the instructions.
(2) Help desk
Please select "Help desk" after calling 95588. Then a help desk representative will help you cancel the SMS banking service.

iv. Business classification
SMS banking has many types of services which have different requirements on the password. Password is not needed for financial information services, but is required for account inquiry, account activity alert and account activities.
1. Functions available for customers without SMS banking password or ICBC e-Password Device
Account-opening bank inquiry, quotation inquiry, interest rate inquiry, loan interest rate inquiry, exchange rate inquiry, fund net value inquiry, gold price inquiry, silver price inquiry, platinum price inquiry, bond price inquiry, net value inquiry for financial products, promotion inquiry, donation inquiry, ICBC Messenger disenabling, agreement unsubscription inquiry, ICBC Messenger enabling, agreement subscription inquiry, cancellation of mobile number binding, queue alert (only available for customers of four-star and above in Dalian, Hainan and Shenzhen).
2. Functions available for customers with SMS banking password
Functions available for customers without SMS banking password or ICBC e-Password Device: balance inquiry, balance inquiry for provident fund account, transaction history inquiry, fund shares inquiry, lot number inquiry for fund subscription, balance inquiry for Precious Metal (Account), balance inquiry for Physical Precious Metal, balance inquiry for third party depository, shares inquiry for financial product, security medium information inquiry, order inquiry, bonus points inquiry, star class inquiry, enabling of balance change alert, disenabling of balance change alert, default card setting, mobile number binding, enabling of inquiry without password, disenabling of inquiry without password, cancellation of card service, cancellation of all services, SMS banking password setting, SMS banking password change and SMS banking password re-setting.
3. Functions available for customers with ICBC e-Password Device
Functions available for customers with SMS banking password: donation, bill payment, order payment, transfer and remittance, transfer with mobile number, transfer with Email, asynchronous order payment, asynchronous e-statement payment, enabling of external payment, disenabling of external payment (except setting, change and re-setting of SMS banking password), quick inter-bank transfer.

v. SMS banking hotline 4001195588
4001195588 is the ID verification hotline for ICBC SMS banking. You have to call 4001195588 for ID verification to sign up for SMS banking, add a registered card, reset SMS banking password or bind mobile number for SMS banking.

V. SMS banking setting
With SMS banking, you can bind mobile number, and set inquiry without password, default card and external payment, with fewer steps for you to go through.
i. Bind mobile number
After signing up for SMS banking, you can bind your mobile number with SMS banking first. Then you can just input the last four digits of your card number to access SMS banking services with this mobile phone. You can also cancel the binding when necessary. Customers with SMS banking password or ICBC e-Password Device can access this function.
Bind mobile number: BDSJ#card number or account number#dynamic password of e-Password Device or SMS banking password.
Cancel binding: QXBDSJYou have to use the bound mobile phone to access this function.
Example:
For balance inquiry, please send with the mobile phone bound with SMS banking "CXYE#last 4 digits of card number#SMS banking password or dynamic password of e-Password Device" to 95588.

ii. Set inquiry without password
After signing up for SMS banking and binding your mobile number, you can access the function of inquiry without password. Once successfully set, there is no need to enter password for inquiry with SMS banking. You can also cancel the function when necessary. Customers with SMS banking password or ICBC e-Password Device can access this function.
Enable inquiry without password: KTMM#card number or account number#dynamic password of e-Password Device or SMS banking password.
Disenable inquiry without password: GBMM#card number or account number#dynamic password of e-Password Device or SMS banking password.
Example:
For balance inquiry, please send with the mobile phone bound with SMS banking "CXYE#last 4 digits of card number" to 95588 after enabling inquiry without password.

iii. Set SMS banking default card
Customers who have signed up for SMS banking and bound mobile number can set a card frequently used as the default card. Once successfully set, there is no need to input card number when accessing SMS banking services. Customers with SMS banking password or ICBC e-Password Device can access this function.
Set SMS banking default card:
SZMRK#card number or account number#dynamic password of e-Password Device or SMS Banking password
Example:
For balance inquiry, you can send "CXYE#SMS banking password or dynamic password of e-Password Device" to 95588 after setting SMS banking default card. If you have enabled inquiry without password, please just send "CXYE#" to 95588.

iv. Enable SMS banking external payment
Customers signing up for SMS banking and binding mobile number and ICBC e-Password Device with counter-based registered card through e-banking channels can enable external payment. With this function, you can access functions with SMS banking including donation, transfer and remittance, transfer with mobile number, transfer with E-mail, bill payment, order payment, asynchronous e-statement payment and quick inter-bank transfer. For bill payment and asynchronous e-statement payment, you have to set SMS banking default card in addition to enabling external payment. You can also disenable the external payment when necessary. However the above functions are not available once the external payment is disenabled.
Enable external payment: KTZF#card number or account number#dynamic password of e-Password Device.
Disenable external payment: GBZF#card number or account number#dynamic password of e-Password Device.
Example:
For transfer, you can send "ZZHK#payment card number or account number (card number in full or last four digits or no card number)#beneficiary card number or account number#beneficary account name#amount" to 95588 after enabling external payment. Once receiving the authentication message, please obtain dynamic password from ICBC e-Password Device and send it to 95588 within the required time.
If you have set a default card, you can send "ZZHK#beneficiary card number or account number#beneficiary account name#amount) to 95588 with the bound mobile phone for transfer and remittance. Once receiving the authentication message, please obtain dynamic password from ICBC e-Password Device and send it to 95588 within the required time.

VII. Tips
ICBC mobile banking (SMS) product was upgraded to ICBC SMS banking on July 15, 2012. Customers of ICBC mobile banking (SMS) has been automatically upgraded to customers of ICBC SMS banking. You can access all functions of ICBC mobile banking (SMS) in ICBC SMS banking, and can access inquiry, customization and service setting with the password you set for ICBC mobile banking (SMS). But for transfer and payment, please use ICBC e-Password Device.
