Protect Your Account No., Password, USB-Shield, e-Password Device and E-banking Code Card

As an electronic banking customer of ICBC, you should be the only person to know your password. Once your card number or password have been stolen or guessed, your account will be maliciously used online. This will cause unnecessary monetary loss to you. Therefore, you should increase your security awareness, make a good habit while banking online to stop any chance for unauthorized users to access your account.
1. Do not disclose your account number and password to anybody under any circumstance. Do not trust any solicitations for your card number or password through email, SMS or phone. If in doubt, call 95588 and contact us immediately. If you have disclosed your Internet Banking password to unidentified person or website, please logon Internet Banking immediately to change password or reset at ICBC counter.
2. Choose password that is not easily to be guessed (do not use date of birth, telephone number, same numbers, continuous numbers or first/last few digits of your identity card number). This will stop any chance for those who are interested.
3. Set a password especially for your electronic banking to differentiate the username and password used in other situations (e.g. other online services, ATM, passbook or bank card). This is to avoid the disclosure of other passwords in case any one of them is lost.
4. Set different passwords for login electronic banking and external payment to protect your money by multi-layered authentication.
5. Do not keep your password in the computer. Do not write the password on any paper or card. Change your password periodically.
6. Check if "Last logon time" on welcome webpage is consistent with the actual situation so that you can spot any exception.
7. Take good care of your card No., password, USB-Shield, e-password device and E-banking Code Card, do not disclose to anyone.

Avoid Others to Use Your Computer, Mobile Phone

You should clearly know who share your computer and strictly restrict unauthorized persons to use your computer. Your account number or Internet Banking password may fall into somebody's hands if you use Internet Banking on public computers. Alternatively your online account may then be stolen to be used.
Always keep your mobile phone within your sight, never lend it to anyone, and always keep it virus-free. After signing up Mobile Banking, if you change your mobile phone, you have to change the mobile No. registered in Mobile Banking as well.
