Chinese Shares Close Mixed Wednesday - June 6
 

Chinese stocks closed mixed Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.03 percent to end at 3,115.18.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.20 percent lower at 10,365.13.

Combined turnover totaled 359.9 billion yuan (about 56.2 billion U.S. dollars), down from 370.7 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Shares related to intellectual property (IP) gained after news reports said the country would release a guideline to strengthen IP protection.

Elefirst Science & Technology Co. and China Sciences Publishing & Media both rose by the daily limit of 10 percent to 7.13 yuan and 11.99 yuan, respectively.

The photovoltaic (PV) sector tumbled after the country unveiled new rules on investment and subsidies for PV installations to curb overheating in the sector.

The National Development and Reform Commission and two other government agencies announced a cut in the national feed-in-tariff for newly-operated PV power stations by 0.05 yuan per kilowatt-hour and a reduction of the same amount in subsidies for power generated by distributed PV projects.

Shares of Cecep Solar Energy Co. dropped 2.27 percent to 4.31 yuan. Tongwei Co. plunged 6 percent to 7.98 yuan. Longi Green Energy Technology was down 3.75 percent to 17.43 yuan per share.
