German stocks closed flat on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index up 47.72 points, or 0.38 percent, to close at 12,543.89 points.

German airlines Lufthansa won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.89 percent. Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and multinational software corporation SAP rose by 1.86 percent and 1.85 percent respectively.

Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.35 percent. Industrial giant Thyssenkrupp and energy group E.ON went down by 1.27 percent and 1.10 percent respectively.

SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 216.20 million euros (254.87 million U.S. dollars).
